. . . and now for something completely different

When Amanda contacted me with an exciting idea for a family photo shoot, I was humbled and excited for the opportunity to photograph her beautiful family and bring her vision to life.  We planned to meet and capture a some portraits in the beautiful golden hour light before lighting up the sky with some paper lanterns.  We ran into a few hiccups with decade-old lanterns that were hesitant to catch fire and an unexpected fear of being anywhere near the flames, but the end result was still a lovely record of time spent together.

Thank you all so much for a fun and adventurous photo shoot!

Miss A - Grove City, PA Portrait Photography

I'm a few days late in saying it, but happy 2015!

Today we have featured a photo shoot with Miss A, whose parents wanted to capture this moment in her life while highlighting her active and creative spirit.  I'm always happy to hear when clients have some ideas about a specific direction they'd like to take their session.  Although it was a little chilly for an outdoor photo shoot, A held her own and really came alive when it was time to run around and be silly.  Making our way indoors was a welcome change for us all, with easier smiles and more silliness abounding.

I hope you enjoy seeing these images as much as I enjoyed making them.  What fun ideas would you incorporate into a photo shoot to bring out your own personality (or your family's)?

Baby and Grandma!

I don't often get asked to do a photo shoot with extended family members, but this munchkin's parents thought it would be nice to give her grandmother the gift of a portrait session with her granddaughter.  What a sweet idea!  Although it was a drizzly day, and we had planned to shoot outside, we made the most of this lovely little gazebo to take advantage of the natural cloudy-sky light.  Here are a few of my favorites.  :)
